"Kanha Morning"

 12" x 14"
Oil on canvas

I can still smell the moist morning air in Kanha and hear the calls of the deer and the peacocks going around suggesting the presence of the tiger nearby. It was an unusual February rain that made the atmosphere more dramatic.
We did see a tigress after a short time that day. She had made a kill some time back and crossed the road to drink water at a water hole. She then came back again after some time which was just enough for me to make some memory free on my camera card and change the battery. I and everybody around could click few photos of her before she again disappeared in the grass.
