18" x 18" Acrylic on canvas
Unmentioned part of the title is " a place which is hopefully not a new construction site."
The scene is from a village on Pune-Satara highway where we had stopped for a cup of tea during one of our excursions. I think that painting this scene was apt on the World Environment Day because, though such roads allow us to see such beautiful places more closely, more often than not, they lead to a construction site of a newly coming up building or a factory which is very disturbing.
I did this painting during a live painting session organised to commemorate the World Environment day. The session was organised by Indiaart Foundation and it was held at Empress Garden, Pune on 30th May .
More than 25 artists participated in this event and you can see the full coverage here.
